The fields are too wet for the harvest trucks to drive in so huge tractors with push bars like this one are everywhere.
My neigbor was lifting his sugar beets out today, the truck got the "push" it needed. If your sugar doesn't say "cane" it most likely came from a field like this.
With all this mud, you can imagine what the roads look like as they pull out of the fields to haul the beets to town. The farmers are very responsible and are out with scrapers getting all the chunks of dirt off before dark.For my non-MN readers...a look at harvest in the mud.

The farmers here are going wild since Saturday - working round the clock to get the crops out. Moisture content is still high but they are running out of time...
Sure hope you get no more rains until the farmers can get the fields in. Wetter than usual here too, but we have a little more time than you do up there.
Oh, I am so worried about the farmers. We have a lot of cotton growing in our area, and the rain has been horrible on it! These are great pictures you posted. I'm saying prayers for the farmers and their families. laurie
That's so sad. My husband grew up on a far and it's a hard life sometimes. We all could learn from farmers.
I can't imagine how difficult it must be to be a farmer these days. So dependent upon the weather and the market. God bless them all.

All the standing corn will have a huge impact on our firearms deer opener this weekend.
Marsha, Missouri had similar October weather. This October was the 3rd wettest and coolest since they started keeping records in KC. Fortunately November has been gorgeous this last week.
On our recent day trips we've seen similar soybean fields and corn fields ... no sugar beets around here ... It's been a very late harvest.
